Description
Can-Air® MEGA Bottom Diffused Aeration System: Unmatched Efficiency for Ponds, Lakes, and Lagoons
Can-Air® MEGA Bottom Diffused Aeration Systems are designed for large ponds, lakes, dugouts and industrial lagoons that require substantial bottom-diffused circulation. Proudly designed and assembled in Canada, each system combines Can-Air® MEGA diffusers, sinking airline and dependable Can-Air® rocking piston compressors in one complete aeration package.
The MEGA is the largest diffuser in the Can-Air® lineup, providing up to 50% more diffuser area than many competing systems. Its large diffuser surface helps create strong circulation from the bottom of the water body, improving oxygen distribution and supporting effective mixing in large and deep-water applications.
The durable stainless steel MEGA diffuser base is self-weighted and designed to settle upright on the pond or lake bottom. Weighted sinking airline keeps the air delivery system below the surface, while the compressor and electrical equipment remain safely onshore.
With no floating equipment at the surface and no electrical components in the water, Can-Air® MEGA systems provide powerful bottom circulation without interfering with boating, swimming or the natural appearance of the water body. The MEGA system is intended for larger aeration applications and is recommended for ponds and lakes greater than approximately 2–3 acres.

System Size Guide
Choosing the Right MEGA Aeration System
The area one Can-Air® MEGA diffuser can service depends on water depth, climate and overall pond condition. Deeper diffuser placement generally creates a larger circulation pattern, while eutrophic or problem ponds require more intensive aeration coverage.

Installation
Can-Air® MEGA systems are installed with the compressor equipment onshore and sinking airline running from the compressor or manifold to each diffuser on the pond or lake bottom.
If a fish pond has not previously been aerated, begin with the diffuser positioned at approximately half the total water depth. Lower the diffuser approximately 2 ft every other week until it reaches the bottom. This gradual startup helps reduce the risk of rapidly mixing poor-quality bottom water and accumulated gases throughout the pond.
Can-Air® systems with one to four diffusers can be housed in one post-mounted cabinet. Larger dual-compressor systems may use two cabinets installed back-to-back.
Can-Air® systems include a two-year standard warranty, extended to three years when purchased with a protective compressor cabinet. For warranty coverage to remain valid, systems purchased without a cabinet must be protected from snow, wind, and dust, kept off the ground on a shelf or post, and operated with a cooling fan positioned to blow hot air away from the compressor.
